Lake Dillon, located in Summit County Colorado is an ideal cruising ground for a small, shallow draft sailboat. The lake has many small islands, bays, and coves where a six inch draft (center board up), kick up rudder, and beachable hull come in handy. Sitting at 9017 feet above sea level with several high mountains close by the wind can get cranking as well. That's when a planing hull capable of 11+ knots comes into play. There's nothing like chasing down a 30 footer in a 17 foot skiff!
